Points to look
for in luggage reviews
The problem with luggage reviews is that they are rarely as
objective as they should be. To be honest, people are always
going to give higher marks to a piece of luxury or designed
luggage in their review, even if the features are less than
satisfactory. This will usually, in the course of the review be
put down to superior quality, or the fact that it is made from
leather. So, the first rule when using luggage reviews as a way
to guide your purchase choice is to find one that compares like
with like.
For example, if you are in the market for a piece of designer
luggage, then reading luggage reviews which put premium brands
next to the cheaper kinds of luggage will not give a fair
impression of the premium brands. If you are going to part with
that much money, then the least you can do is ensure that you
are spending it well.
On the other hand, those buyers looking in the budget range
should also ensure that they are reading comparative luggage
reviews which cover items of the same retail value. This has no
reflection on the quality, but the fact that the items do not
carry a designers mark means that they will be cheaper.
Try also to find luggage reviews which treat the luggage the
same way as you plan to – it is a well known fact that traveling
around in various taxis, airplanes, trains and so forth will
take a higher toll on a piece of luggage than if you are just
putting it in and taking it out of your own vehicle.
