Finding the
right attache case
An attache case is like a brief case in that it is designed for
the transport of documents, however, it is different because it
is not designed to be quite as large and robust as a full brief
case. Where a brief case tends to be made of a wood frame,
covered with a leather, leather look or man made fabric, an
attache case tends to be more like a men’s purse. No frame, but
tough enough to take the grind of the busy professionals life.
As an alternative to the attache case, it is great because it
offers the convenience of its big brother, but is also lighter
and more comfortable to carry for long journeys. The capacity
might be slightly less than a full brief case, this is rarely an
issue, since it makes up for it by having a myriad of other
features which means that the overall capacity is not really
much different.
For example, the attache case may not have a lid to speak of,
but it does have a flap, which means that underneath you can
sometimes find a couple of very useful semi-external pockets.
These have the advantage of being much easier to get at than
those inside the lid of a full brief case.
In fact, the attache case is designed to be accessible from the
top, which is very different I approach to a brief case, which
needs to be lying on a flat surface before you can access its
contents.
